The Five Elements

Finding Harmony with Five Elements

Upholding the centuries-old healing philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Chuan’s treatments focus on nurturing and supporting the three treasures of Jing (our life force), Qi (our vital energy) and Shen (mind and spirit), all of which lie at the core of wellness and vitality. To restore the optimal internal balance, Chuan employs the TCM principles of Yin and Yang (two opposite forces that sustain harmony) and Jing Luo (the Meridian system that integrates the body’s functions by identifying 14 meridian points).

Chuan’s treatments and products are also guided by Wu Xing (the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water). By identifying one’s element through a pre-treatment assessment, expert consultants will design one’s Chuan Journey that incorporates the relative Element Massage Oil and post-treatment element tea, as well as specific treatment protocols that focus on the acupressure points along the body’s meridian system.

The Five Elements

Chuan Spa treatments and products are guided by the Five Elements theory. The Five Element questionnaire will assist you in identifying basic disharmonies amongst the five elements, which will then direct you, along with the sensory testing, to the appropriate Chuan product to be used during your treatment.
